Casting Curious George Live!

VEE CORPORATION in association with UNIVERSAL PICTURES STAGE PRODUCTIONS and HOUGHTON MIFFLIN HARCOURT -

CURIOUS GEORGE LIVE is based on the popular children’s show. Rehearsals will begin immediately, and tour the US for an open-ended period. Pay: $400/week with $346 per diem.

NOTE: Seeking adults only. To be considered for a role, you must turn 18 years of age by April 1, 2010.

Seeking:

[Man with the Yellow Hat (MYH)] male; early twenties to mid-thirties; Caucasian; 5’11” or taller; thin and lanky body type; George’s best friend and mentor; he is organized, well liked and a little goofy too

[Chef Pisghetti] male; mid-twenties to early forties; Caucasian (Italian look a plus); up to 5’10”; round character man; Tenor; strong singer; the good-natured owner of an Italian restaurant; he enjoys having George around, and George enjoys helping him out whenever he can; Chef Pisghetti is comedically over-dramatic, every problem has him saying he will quit cooking or close his restaurant

[Nettie Pisghetti] female; early twenties to early forties; Caucasian (Italian look a plus); character woman; Alto or mezzo; Chef Pisghetti’s Italian wife; she pushes him to be the best chef he can be

[Professor Wiseman] female; early twenties to early thirties; African American; slim body type; a brilliant and clever woman, she is a good friend of The Man with the Yellow Hat and runs the Museum of Science; actor/singer who moves well

[Doorman/Frankie] male; early twenties to late thirties; Caucasian; Baritone; ideally 5’10” to 6’1”; broad shoulders a plus; The Doorman is friendly, knowledgeable and dignified; Frankie is a smooth, swanky 1950s nightclub singer; think Dean Martin; looking for actors/singers who move well

[Eddie (Worldwide Delivery Courier 1)/ Phinneas T. Lightspeed] male; early twenties to early thirties; open ethnicity; Baritone; Phinneas is a charming fast-talking salesman; fun, smooth-talking infomercial type; neither sinister nor evil, just a salesman with a “life-changing” invention to share; he is a bit too slick, but comes around in the end; comedic performer

[Freddie (Worldwide Delivery Courier 2)/Chef/Chorus] male; late teens to early thirties; open ethnicity; Tenor; comedic performer

[Rose (Worldwide Delivery Courier 3)/Chef/Chorus] female; late teens to early thirties; open ethnicity; comedic performer; Mezzo-soprano

[Male Chorus] male; 18 to 21 to play much younger; singer/dancers

[Young Girl/Chorus] female; 18 to 21 to play much younger; up to 5’2”; acrobatic skills a plus; singer/dancers

[Female Chorus/George Swing] acrobatic and circus skills a plus; must be able to do a back handspring

[Tall Male Cover] male; late teens to early thirties; Caucasian; 5’11 or taller; to understudy Man with the Yellow Hat and Phinneas; singers who move very well

[Medium Male Cover] male; late teens to early thirties; Caucasian (Italian look a plus); Tenor or Bari-tenor; ideally 5’10” to 6’1”; to understudy Frankie, Doorman and Chef Pisghetti; strong singer who moves well
