Philadelphia Urban Theatre Festival Workshop presents: Auditions for ‘Roost’
Seeking African-American/Latino Actors to participate in the workshop production of “Roost” a new play by L. E. Colston II
Seeking:
Derek: A man in his twenties, haunted by the gruesome murder of his father. He returns back home after being gone for several years. Mysterious, street smart, deeply haunted by his traumatic childhood. He returns home to reclaim the house his father was murdered in.
Chance: A man in his thirties, veteran of the Iraq war. Possibly wrestles with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder kept only at bay with prescription medication. A wild card with a twisted sense of humor.
Cheryl: A woman in her forties, recently released from prison after 20 years. She struggles desperately with her strong religious beliefs and her heroine addiction.
Crawford: A man in his fifties, a recently divorced homicide detective barely keeping it together after the loss of his only son in Iraq. He tries coping with alcohol.
Eddie: A man in his forties, a nosey drunk who makes it his business to know what’s going on in every one else’s lives. It’s often difficult to tell when he’s telling the truth. Loyal, talkative, unafraid to speak his mind even if it gets him into trouble… and it usually does.
Faith: {already cast} A woman in her twenties, successful businesswoman trying hard to forget her meager beginnings while trying to put the pieces of her fractured childhood behind her. She is determined to sell the house her father was murdered in.
