Gillian Holroyd:
(Female late 20s) Smart, sexy, witty, and has a dry sense of humor. She’s mostly low-key about her powers as a witch and tries to blend in. But when a push comes to shove, she has an edge and can be scary. Seeking a leading actress with stamina.

Shepherd Henderson:
(male Early 30s) Smart, handsome, masculine, square-jawed and – at the start of the play – rather tightly wound. He’s got the right job, is engaged to a very proper (and probably frigid) girl, and everything in his life is right “on schedule.” But then he falls in love and has fabulous out-of-this world sex with a gorgeous witch and the whole world changes. Seeking actor with adept w/ physical comedy.

Nicky Holroyd:
(Male late 20s – early 30s) Gillian’s warlock brother. Funny, dilettante, capricious. Enjoys being a warlock but is not nearly as good at it as his sister. Mostly uses it to pull pranks on people and to escape from having to work very hard. Possibly sexually ambiguous.

Miss Holroyd (Auntie Queenie):
(Female 50s – 60) A plump, endearing, and somewhat infantile woman. She’s always caught with her hand in the cookie jar and Gillian has to clean up after her. She loves the idea of being a witch, even though she’s not very good at it.

Bernard:American, 30s-40s. Architect, living in Paris. Handsome, well-educated, charming. Engaged to three air hostesses whom he manages to keep in the dark about one-another by managing their visits on a strict timetable. Takes boyish pleasure in the success of his devious doings, until his careful planning starts to fall apart, deflating his confidence.

Berthe:French, 40s-60s. Bernard’s long-time live-in maid, cook and gal Friday. Although devoted to Bernard, she is wearying of keeping up with Bernard’s revolving-door lifestyle, and by play’s end she has been pushed as far as she will go. Dry and fantastically sarcastic; never afraid to say what’s on her mind.

Robert:30s-40s. American. Bernard’s schoolmate from back in the States; hasn’t seen Bernard in close to 20 years. Shy, small-town and sweet—somewhat a nerd by today’s standards. Views Bernard’s whirlwind juggling act with awe and admiration – until he gets wrapped up in it himself, and his anxiety spins out of control.

Gloria:American, late 20s-30s. Air hostess for TWA. Epitome of a go-getter American gal; has a vigorous appetite for food and love. Completely adorable and supremely confident, she might punch you if you dared call her “cute”.

Gretchen:German, late 20s-30s. Air hostess for Lufthansa. Has an intense Teutonic passion that can spin on a dime—one moment she might be soft and cuddly, and the next barking out orders and breaking furniture. Inspires equal amounts of lust and fear in those around her.

Gabriella:Bernard’s Italian sex-kitten, late 20s-30s. Air hostess for Alitalia. Sultry and full of fire, she is much smarter and more self-reliant than she first appears.

About Project Girl Performance Collective: Through writing and acting

Collective generates theatrical event based on their own life experiences
and what it means to be a young woman in today’s world. Performers share
the joys and troubles of today’s generation in addition to their own
experiences of love, relationships, parents, identity, pain and success.

feel free to write a poem, short story, scene or spoken word piece as well.
We want to see who you are. You do not need to memorize this piece.

We are especially interested in meeting musicians, singers and those with
any musical talents. Members of the LGBT community are strongly encouraged
to submit to us as well.

32nd season! Every year, Everlasting Films has made a five day
Christmas special, each day playing songs for the season. Beginning in
2004, we made it available on the internet. The programme is

The Guest Host appears in the Friday edition and reads the Christmas Story. You
