Seeking Afterschool Teaching Artist – NYC!


The PAZ (Peace A toZ) After-school Program is a product of a shared commitment by P.S. 214 and Morningside Center for Teaching Social Responsibility to educate the hearts and minds of our youth through conflict resolution, cooperative games and sports, academic help, art, and community service. We are currently seeking a teaching artist in ballroom dancing, Music Instruction, Theater, Art, and Poetry.

Responsibilities:
1. Work with Program Director to design a curriculum that is aligned with program goals.
2. Facilitate instruction for a group of 15 elementary students 2-3 days a week from 3pm-6pm.
3. Lead students in special presentations and community projects.

Qualifications:
1. Two years experience or advanced degree in one of the following areas: ballroom dancing, music instruction, theatre, poetry or art.

2. Commit for the whole school year.

3. Personal Portfolio of current or past work, if possible.

4. Must have a sense of humor and love working with children.

PAY – $20-$25 Hourly*
